Why Choose Himalayan Pink Rock Salt
- Unrefined: it keeps its natural trace minerals instead of being refined to pure white salt.
- No anti-caking agents or additives: just natural rock salt.
- Traditional: sendha namak is the salt traditionally used during vrat and upvas.
- Versatile: it works in everyday cooking, salads, chaat and drinks.
How to Use
Use it in place of regular salt in curries, dals, sabzis, salads, raita, chaat and buttermilk. Use it in vrat dishes like sabudana khichdi, kuttu puri and fruit chaat. Add a pinch to nimbu pani or chaas.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container, away from moisture. Natural salt with no anti-caking agent may form small lumps in humid weather; just break them up before use.

Sendha namak is natural rock salt mined from salt deposits, rather than made by evaporating sea water. It is traditionally used in Indian cooking and is the salt of choice during vrat and upvas.
The pink colour comes naturally from trace minerals in the rock. No colour is added.
Regular table salt is usually refined, and often contains anti-caking agents and added iodine. Our pink rock salt is unrefined, with no anti-caking agents or additives. Both are mainly sodium chloride, so use either in moderation.
Rock salt naturally contains very little iodine. If you use only rock salt, make sure your diet gets iodine from other sources, or use iodised salt alongside it.
It contains no anti-caking agent, so it can absorb moisture in humid weather. Store it in an airtight container.
